Affirmative Lad brought up the sixth win for the Moloney stable in nine days on Sunday at Warrnambool, breaking his maiden status in fine style in the 1000 metre Maiden Plate.
The 3-year-old Yes Yes Yes gelding was given a textbook ride by Jarrod Fry, settling down third in the box-seat in transit and gaining a split in the final 200 metres to get up to win by a long-neck right on the line.
Coming into the race off the back of a jumpout second placing at Cranbourne, Affirmative Lad had shown potential in his first campaign before going for a spell and it was pleasing to see him get the job done first-up at just his third start.
