Always Fiorente held on in an exciting photo finish to score his maiden win at Stawell on Friday, aided by a brilliant ride by Jarrod Fry.
Settling midfield in the 1602 metre Maiden Plate, the four-year-old Fiorente gelding had the race won at the 800 metre mark with a confident mid-race move by Fry to circle the field, putting the rest of the field off the bit coming into the straight and holding on to score by a neck on the line.
Although having taken fourteen starts to break his maiden, Always Fiorente had shown is previous starts that he had the ability to win races, and with strength and maturity, and the application of blinkers for the first time, he was able to put the writing on the wall for his loyal owners.
Now with that confidence-boosting win under his belt, we hope to see Always Fiorente continue to improve through his grades.
Congratulations to all the owners and the hard working team at Moloney Racing!
