Goldwyn saluted in fine style to break his maiden at his fifth start on Tuesday at Pakenham (Synthetic), aided by a superb ride by star apprentice, Carleen Hefel.

Beginning well over the 1000 metre distance, Hefel gave the 4-year-old Star Witness gelding a beautiful trail one-out-one-back in running, before bringing Goldwyn to the outside on straightening and producing a solid effort to the line to win by a 0.5 length margin.

A homebred for long-time clients, Julie Sampson and Meridy Taite, Goldwyn continues the winning line of progeny including half-siblings Maddox and Carlisle, from their city-winning Fastnet Rock dam, Cobblestones.

We hope that he can continue to work through the grades with his maiden now under his belt.

Congratulations to Julie and Meridy, and all of the hard working team at Moloney Racing!
