Kahhof broke through for an impressive maiden victory in the 3yo Maiden Plate at Bairnsdale on Sunday, delivering some cheer for his connections on Father’s Day at just his second race start.
Ridden by Patrick Moloney, the three-year-old Pierro gelding jumped well over the 1200 metre distance and settled down outside the leader, before running away in the final furlong to salute by 1.25 lengths on the line.
Following a promising debut run a fortnight prior at Ballarat on the synthetic, the grandson of Virage was able to put the writing on the wall for a promising career still to come on the track.
