The Gerard Moloney-trained Reactivate caused a boil-over first-up in the 0-64 Handicap at Mornington on Sunday, capping a stellar three-days for the Moloney Racing stable.
Sent out at 70-1 with the bookies, Reactivate produced a fairytale win for the trainer-strapper-owner-jockey combo of Moloney’s on track, and was aided by a textbook ride by Pat Moloney.
Jumping away only fairly from the 1200 metre start, Moloney settled the 6-year-old Reset Gelding down three-back-the-fence, getting a beautiful cart into the straight, before switching off heels into clear running on straightening and letting down a good turn-of-foot to win by a long neck.
After taking 26 starts and 6 second placings to break his maiden, Reactivate now has two career-wins under his belt at his thirtieth start, with the promise of only improvement to come going forward this preparation.
Congratulations to the connections of Reactivate and all of the hardworking team at Moloney Racing!
