Nation State delivered an impressive win for the Moloney Racing team on our local cup day at Cranbourne, leading all the way in the BM70 Handicap with Beau Mertens in the saddle.

Jumping straight to the front from barrier eight over 1300 metres, Nation State, a four-year-old gelding by All Too Hard, was able to kick away on the home turn and hold off all challengers to score by a long neck on the line.

Bouncing back from a disappointing run last start at Flemington where he found himself in the worst part of the track, Nation State took full advantage of his natural speed with the track favouring on-pace gallopers on the day.

Now with four wins from eleven starts, Nation State continues to impress the team and we look forward to seeing him go on with his terrific form.

Stormbourg also produced an eye-catching run in race one on the card and is one to watch going forward, running home nicely to run third at his first-up run this preparation.

Congratulations to the connections of Nation State and all of the hard working team at Moloney Racing!
