Style And Grace showed all that in her maiden win at Geelong on Wednesday, opening the new year with a bang for the Moloney Family.

The three-year-old Impending filly was stepping out for just her second race start at the 1400 metre trip, and was given a peach of a ride by Patrick Moloney who had the added pressure of not only riding for his parents, Gerard and Trish, but also his new wife Jess who was amongst the ownership group.

Settling in the box seat in transit, Style And Grace was travelling so well behind the leaders coming to the home corner that all she needed was a run on straightening to put them away, and she stormed through a gap at the 350 metre mark to run clear and win by 1.25 lengths.

A 2021 Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale purchase for $80,000, Gerard has always had a lot of time for this filly, and after a nice trial coming into this race following her promising debut run at Moe a month ago, he was confident she would knock off her maiden win quickly.

We’re excited to see Style And Grace continue to progress this preparation, knowing she will only flourish from a break when that time comes too.

A big congratulations to Style And Grace’s connections and all of the team at Moloney Racing!
