Charming Di scored her first metropolitan victory at Sandown Lakeside on Wednesday over 1400 metres, with a superb ride from apprentice Carleen Hefel.

Settling in the box seat in transit, Charming Di never went around a horse, with Hefel taking the saloon passage on the fence in the straight to run away for an easy 1.75 length win against the field of three-year-old fillies.

This was the talented Rubick filly’s third-career-win from 8 starts, and her second this preparation after her eye-catching first-up win at Pakenham three starts back, which put the writing on the wall for a city win to follow in the not too distant future.

We look forward to seeing what’s still to come from Charming Di this preparation.

Congratulations to Paul Shannon and all of the team at Moloney Racing!
