Imperial Lad notched his 9th career win on Saturday at Bendigo, leading from pillar to post with 3kg-claiming apprentice Sheridan Clarke in the saddle, managing to score her first Saturday metropolitan winner on the stable stalwart.

Jumping from the inside barrier at the 1400 metre start, Clarke took control of the race on settling, rating the 6-year-old All Too Hard gelding to perfection to kick away in the straight and hold on by a nose on the line to Crosshaven, who was charging late ahead of the strong field in the BM100 Handicap.

Imperial Lad has now amassed almost $800,000 in prize money in his 47 starts, and shows every sign that he has plenty more wins in store for his connections.

Congratulations to all of Sharkie’s connections, as well as the hard-working team at Moloney Racing!
