Maddox continued her brilliant association this preparation with stable apprentice, Tayla Childs, on Thursday at Echuca, leading all the way in the Heavy 9 conditions over 1100 metres.

A decision to stay well off the fence from barrier 6 paid off for the team, with the four-year-old mare never looking in doubt on the wet track, soaring away for a comfortable 1.2 length victory in the BM64 Handicap.

A half-sister to the talented three-year-old Carlisle, Maddox has now recorded two wins and two seconds from four starts this campaign with Childs in the saddle, and has an overall tally of four wins and five placings from 14 race starts.

With the versatility of handling all track conditions, there is no doubt that Maddox has a bright future ahead, and hopefully she can continue her terrific form as she steps up in class during the winter months.

Congratulations to owner-breeders Julie Sampson and Meridy Taite, and a big well done to all of the team at Moloney Racing!
