Carlisle created history for the stable on Sunday at Werribee, notching the first ever winner to be trained from our new Cranbourne barn on Werribee Cup Day.

After an eye-catching run to finish fourth last start at Geelong, the So You Think gelding was sent out favourite in the 1600 metre maiden and was given no excuses by the in-form jockey Jarrod Fry when settled down outside the leader in the seven horse field.

Showing a good turn-of-foot when breaking away from the rest of the field at the top of the straight, the three-year-old Carlisle fought off a brave challenge from the second place-getter, Catskill, and continued to lengthen impressively through the line to win by three-quarters of a length, with Badiss another 5 lengths away in third.

Carlisle, who is a home-bred out of the Meridy Taite and Julie Sampson owned Cobblestones, continued what has been a brilliant couple of months for the Moloney Racing team, and will forever be etched in history as our first winner trained from our Cranbourne stables, less than a week after settlement.

We look forward to the bright future that is ahead for Carlisle, and plenty more winners and success to come from our new base.

Congratulations to Julie and Meridy, and all of the Moloney Racing team!
