Equiano mare, Dame Vassa, brought up a well deserved fourth career win from 34 starts on Tuesday at Mornington.

Given every opportunity by jockey, Noel Callow, the 6-year-old relished the soft 7 conditions and ended a luckless run of outs this preparation.

The much-loved chestnut, who is part-owned by trainer, John Moloney, settled midfield in the strung-out field of nine runners, with a quick tempo set by the leaders. This allowed the mare to finish off with a strong surge down the outside in the straight, to win by one length on the line.

Congratulations to all of the connections, as well as the hard working team at Moloney Racing!
