2019 is shaping to be a successful year for Moloney Racing, after the talented three-year-old, Fine Dane, secured his first city win in the Sarah’s Dream Handicap, at Moonee Valley on Friday night.

Showing plenty of ability in his first preparation, the gelding, after bolting in at his first start at Moe in August, was only beaten half-a-length by reigning-Blue Diamond winner, Written By, at his second start at Caulfield in September.

With a previous tendency to over-race, providing the horse with plenty of excuses in the past, the son of Danerich finally looks to be putting it all together. Ridden by stable rider, Patrick Moloney, the gelding settled beautifully outside the leader, before coming away in the final 200m to score by 0.5L in impressive fashion.

Trainer, John Moloney, believes Fine Dane still has plenty of improvement to come going forward through this preparation after his first up win. With no grand plans for the horse yet, John will look to place the horse in similar company next start, to ensure that the horse continues to build his confidence, and hopefully continue his winning form.

Congratulations to all the connections, as well as the hard-working team at Moloney Racing!
