It was a day of celebrations on Wednesday at Ladbrokes Park, with talented 4-year-old, Imperial Lad, recording his first metropolitan win, sharing the spoils with stable foreman and birthday boy, Shane O’Sullivan, who strapped the runner on the day.
The All Too Hard gelding highly impressed with his first-up victory over 1200 metres on the Lakeside track, and was given a great ride by Teo Nugent to get the habitually fierce gelding to settle outside the leader, before racing away in the straight to win by 1.5 lengths on the line.
Given the ultimate gear change of being gelded since his last start, “Sharkie” looks to be in for a great preparation after recording his fourth career win at his 17th start.
