Kahhof brought up his third win at his twelfth race start on Wednesday at Sandown Hillside, with a dashing display in the BM64 Handicap for Colts, Geldings and Entires over 1300 metres.
Aided by a textbook ride from Mark Zahra settling Kahhof in the one-one position from barrier two, the four-year-old Pierro Gelding was too strong for his opponents once he saw daylight on straightening, finishing off strongly to the line to win by a long head in blustery conditions.
It was a well-deserved win for the favourited-runner lugging a big weight of 62kg, following his second and third placings at Sandown this campaign, with the grandson of Virage now yet to miss a placing at his eight starts to date at the track.
With a trip back to the trials coming into this start to correct his barrier manners, it was pleasing to see the talented galloper behave on race day and get the job done for his connections. We look forward to seeing him progress through his grades this preparation.
Congratulations to the connections of Kahhof and all of the hard-working team at Moloney Racing!
