Legatus notched his fourth-career-win at start twenty-seven on Friday night at Cranbourne, rounding out the year of 2023 in style for the Moloney Racing team.

In what was a muddling run race over the 2580 metre distance, Legatus was given a lovely ride by Jake Noonan who allowed the 5-year-old Preferment gelding to settle towards the rear of the field in the BM64 Handicap, where he switched-off and travelled beautifully over the staying course.

Working into the race from the 600 metres, Legatus tracked the eventual runner-up Jenny The Beaver before getting to the outside on straightening and dashing home to win by a one length margin.

Now with a well-deserved win under his belt, we hope to see Legatus continue his winning form in the coming weeks.

Congratulations to the connections of Legatus, and a big Happy New Year from all of the team at Moloney Racing!
