Milton Park made it back-to-back wins at Flemington on Melbourne Cup Day, taking out the Listed Furphy Plate just 9 days after winning the Listed Sale Cup.

Jarrod Fry once again rated the long-striding Written Tycoon gelding to perfection. Bouncing straight to the front from barrier 4, Milton Park showed a strong kick 300 metres out to hold off the closing challenger Skyman in second place, proving that his free-rolling racing style was no detriment to him over the 1800 metre distance.

Bred and Owned by long-time Moloney Racing clients Meridy Taite and Julie Sampson, Milton Park is out of the stakes-winning Flying Spur mare Gawne and continues a long lineage of talented gallopers from the family, and a dream run of success for Sampson and Taite.

Managing 3 winners this preparation to bring up a total of 7 career wins from 17 starts, Milton Park will now head to the paddock for a well-deserved break and return for the Autumn, where John believes the lightly-raced galloper will only continue to improve with age.

Congratulations to Julie and Meridy, and all of the team at Moloney Racing!
