Milton Park topped a sensational weekend for Moloney Racing on Sunday, taking home the $200,000 Listed Ladbrokes Sale Cup for owner/breeders Julie Sampson and Meridy Taite, in an impressive front-running performance.

The Written Tycoon gelding, who is out of the Sampson and Taite owned Stakes winning mare Gawne, jumped straight to the front from barrier 4 and was perfectly rated over the 1600 metre distance by Jarrod Fry, who let the galloper cruise along in his comfort zone before dashing clear in the straight to win by 2 lengths on the line.

Running third in the Seymour Cup which was held at Ballarat a fortnight ago, was a telling sign that Milton Park would be hard to beat on Sunday, with him now being the third horse to come out of that race and win at metropolitan or stakes level this week.

This was Milton Park’s first win at stakes level and a well deserved first stakes win in Victoria for the in-form Fry, who continually gets results for the team.

A big congratulations to Julie and Meridy, and well done to all of the team at Moloney Racing!
