Nation State scored his third-career-win at his ninth race start at Ballarat on Thursday, beginning his preparation with a bang in the BM64 Handicap over 1000 metres.
The four-year-old gelding son of All Too Hard travelled beautifully behind the leaders with Beau Mertens in the saddle over the sprint distance, and quickened nicely on straightening, holding off his challengers to win by a nose on the line.
A metropolitan winner over 1200 metres as a three-year-old, Nation State looks to be in for an exciting preparation and we hope to see him continue to progress through his grades.
Congratulations to the connections of Nation State, as well as the hard working team at Moloney Racing!
