John Moloney – Caulfield Racecourse
John Moloney secured his training license in 1981. John trains a team of 25 horses from his base at Caulfield and feels comfortable with this size team. John’s results reflect a stable of a much greater size.
John’s philosophy to training is simply ‘to keep his horses in the easiest company as possible and to move them through their grades’. It is important to him for his owners get the best possible financial return and for them to enjoy the ride. This conservative but professional approach has seen the ‘Moloney Stable’ receive strong support from a loyal group of owners for over 50 years.
‘Moloney Racing’ comprises a groupof dedicated people who have been involved with the team for many years and they have an approach to the job at hand that reflects a culture that has been developed over decades. To a person they are proud to be a part of an organization that offers much more than many of their rivals.
John is very highly regarded by his peers. He has over 40 year experience in the industry with his late father, champion trainer Jim Moloney his greatest supporter.
John is regarded by many who deal with him as being ‘the ultimate professional’. His attention to detail is second to none. He has the rare ability to be able to communicate with people at all levels and has a humbleness that attracts people to him.
I am thrilled to have John Moloney as our Caulfield trainer and I have been very impressed with excellent results he has achieved for us with Maldicion and Flying Jess which recently won the Group 3 SAJC Sire’s Produce Stakes. John has been a fine addition to our training team and I look forward to having many more successful days with him at the track.
