The John and Paul Shannon owned, Pure, capped off a great weekend for Team Moloney on Saturday at Stony Creek, when she brought up her second win at her twentieth race start.

Stepping up to 1700m after a strong second at her previous start over 1200m, the Pierro mare relished the extra distance, helped by a brilliant ride by stable jockey, Patrick Moloney. Settling down “one-out-one-back” in transit, the four-year-old kicked off the turn, and toughed out the concluding stages better than her rivals to win by 0.8 lengths on the line.

Bred by John Shannon, Pure is a daughter of the talented former Moloney-trained galloper, Flying Ruby, and half-sister to group 1 winning sprinter, Flying Artie. Her destiny is already sealed as a valuable broodmare once she hangs up her racing boots.

Congratulations to the Shannon Family and all of the hard-working team at Moloney Racing!

Thank you for supporting Moloney Racing in 2019. We hope everyone had a Merry Christmas, and we wish you all the best for the New Year!
