The Regiment broke through for a well-deserved win at Geelong on Boxing Day, gifting owners Julie Sampson and Meridy Taite with a welcome Christmas present, and rounded out the year on a positive note for all of the team at Moloney Racing.
The Hinchinbrook gelding, who is never far away from the money and consistently runs well, was perfectly placed by John in the 1500 metre 0-58 Handicap. Capped by a superb ride by Jarrod Fry, the six-year-old notched his 4th career win, and 24th first-three placing, from 51 starts.
It goes without saying that 2020 was a year full of challenges, and as we ring in the New Year, John, Gerard and the team would like to send our best wishes to all connections and followers of the stable for a happy and prosperous 2021!
