Imperial Lad scored a gutsy win on Wednesday at Cranbourne, in the BM64 Handicap over 1200m.

With the addition of blinkers for the first time, the All Too Hard entire was on song and too strong in his third-run this preparation, and was steered perfectly by top jockey, Mark Zahra, to bring up his third-career-win at his fifteenth start.

Managing to get cover in a midfield position from a wide barrier, the pair made a wide run on the home corner, and “Sharkie” was too strong for his rivals in the final furlong.

The entire isn’t without his quirks, and with a tendency to overrace in the past and “look around a bit too much”, it was pleasing to see the four-year-old settle perfectly for Zahra, and the introduction of blinkers worked wonders to help him focus on getting the job done.

Congratulations to all of Sharkie’s connections, and all of the hard working team at Moloney Racing!
