Shove Over continued a massive few weeks for the Moloney Racing team on Wednesday at Sandown Hillside, helped over the line by an exceptional ride from 2kg-claiming apprentice Carleen Hefel.

The four-year-old Nicconi gelding settled down midfield on the fence over the 1400 metre distance, and was working into the race strongly before straightening when he was still pocketed at the 200 meter mark. Hefel showed astute ability to manoeuvre around heels to find a tight gap, before driving Shove Over through to hit the front in the last 50 metres, saluting in a tight finish.

It was Shove Over’s fifth career win from 13 starts and third win this preparation, recording his first metropolitan victory two starts back at Flemington in a dashing display.

Shove Over’s win capped a big week for the team following Dictionary’s maiden win over 1600 metres at Pakenham last Thursday.

The three-year old All Too Hard gelding had a lovely run in the one-one position and was strong late to win by a long head with Patrick Moloney in the saddle.

Congratulations to Dictionary and Shove Over’s connections, as well as the hard working team at Moloney Racing!
